Belovo Paper Mill S.A. is one of the leading paper companies in Bulgaria and the Balkan Area.
The company started its operation in 1900 with one small paper machine and in 1918 Samuel Patak – owner of a printing house in Rousse and trader of paper - becomes the basic shareholder.



1904
The first paper plant "KNIGA" was founded in 1900 at the same place
of the present Mill with one small paper machine
 



1920-1925
The paper factory "KNIGA" as it was in early 20s before
to be sold to Samuel Patak.
 

Following the transfer of ownership to "Sam Patak" SA on 15.12.1927, the factory was reconstructed and renovated and was renamed "SAMPA".



1930-1940

In 1947 the factory was nationalized and renamed to KMH "Dimitar Blagoev".

The first wide expansion was realized in the period 1968-1972 with the installation of four new paper machines. The investment was completed with infrastructure installations (water and effluent treatment, steam, compressed air, workshops, warehouses, etc.) finishing and converting equipment for household tissue products (toilet rolls, napkins, handkerchiefs, kitchen, diapers, wadding, etc.).



1972
President T.Zivkov is opening the newly constructed enterprise KMH-Belovo after completion of the first wide expansion period 1968-1972 and the installation of four paper machines Voith-1, Beloit, B-34 and B-37.
 

The second extension was completed in 1984 with the installation of a 20.000 tons per year Voith Tissue paper machine, a 20.000 tons per year deinking plant and additional converting machines.



1984
Transferring of Yankee cylinder, dia 5000 mm, width 3270 mm of Voith-2 paper machine.
 

After 1990 the company has been re-organized as a joint-stock company KMH – Belovo S.A.

By the end of 1997 through an International Tender the 58% of the share capital was transferred to THRACE PAPER MILL S.A. and later to PABOLUX S.A. and PADILUX S.A. who are presently controlling the 68,07% of the share capital belonging to ZERITIS GROUP.



17 November 1997
Panos Zeritis, Chairman of Thrace Paper Mill and Alexander Sabotinov , Executive Director of the Privatization agency , sign the contract for the sale of 58% of the shares of Belovo Paper Mill S.A.
 



17 November 1997
P.Zeritis and his negotiating team St.Nikolakeas, M.Sideridis and G.Angelopoulos exchange the signed privatization contract with Mr.Al.Sabotinov.
